Few drives in Dubai end with a view as dramatic as the one at Downtown. The tower rises 828 metres above the district, and the road to it is easy to find. Where to leave your car is the harder part. This guide covers Burj Khalifa parking from start to finish, so your visit begins with a smooth arrival and not a slow circuit of the car park.
The tower has no public car park of its own. Visitors use the car parks of The Dubai Mall, which sits right beside the tower, and walk through the mall to the Burj Khalifa visitor entrance. Valet parking is also available at the Burj Khalifa podium for guests who prefer to be dropped at the door.
The Dubai Mall moved to a paid parking system in mid-2024, so the old habit of simply driving in and walking off no longer applies. Check the mall's official channels for the current terms before you go.
The mall has four main parking areas. Each one suits a slightly different visit.
Fashion Parking. This is the best pick for Burj Khalifa visitors. The P1 and P2 levels give the shortest indoor walk to the lower ground entrance, so it is the closest option for At the Top parking.
Grand Parking. A good second choice, with convenient access towards the lower ground entrance and the Burj Khalifa side of the building.
Cinema Parking. A large car park that works well as a fallback when Fashion Parking is full. Expect a slightly longer walk.
Zabeel Parking. Another large option when the busier zones fill up, best for visitors who do not mind a longer walk inside the mall.
Once you park, follow the signs for Burj Khalifa Entrance, At the Top and Fashion Avenue.
At the Top is the public observation experience, and its entrance is on the lower ground floor of The Dubai Mall. For the easiest At the Top parking, head for Fashion Parking P1.
1. Approach Downtown Dubai and follow the road signs for The Dubai Mall.
2. Choose Fashion Parking and aim for the P1 level first, then P2.
3. Walk to the lower ground floor, following the signs for At the Top.
4. Arrive at the mall at least 45 to 60 minutes before your printed entry time.
Add extra time at sunset and on public holidays. These are the busiest hours of the day, and the car parks fill early.
Downtown parking is not limited to The Dubai Mall. The Emaar car parks near Burj Park are another option, particularly if your plan includes the park, the boulevard or the evening fountain show. Visitors staying at nearby hotels such as Armani Hotel Dubai, Address Downtown, Palace Downtown or Vida Downtown can ask about guest parking when they book. Residents of the tower use secure underground parking in the podium, which is separate from visitor parking.
If you would rather avoid the search for a space entirely, there are other ways in. The Red Line stops at Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, and a covered walkway leads from the station into the mall. Ride-hailing apps and taxis can drop you at the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall entrance on Financial Centre Road, close to the ticket office.
A car still wins when you are carrying shopping bags, travelling with family, or combining Burj Khalifa with other stops across the city.
The car you drive changes how the day feels. Car parks in busy areas reward compact, easy-to-manoeuvre vehicles, while longer plans call for more space.

1. Go early or go late. Mid-morning on weekdays is usually calmer than evenings and weekends.
2. Note your level and zone. The car parks are huge, so photograph your bay or the nearest pillar before you leave the car.
3. Match the car park to your plan. Choose Fashion Parking for At the Top and a zone near the fountain side if you are watching the show.
4. Avoid overnight parking. Leaving a car overnight is not advised unless the mall has approved it or it is tied to a hotel booking.
5. Know the road rules. Limits change between road sections, so read our Dubai speed limits guide.
6. Watch for fines. Renters pay their own fines, so check the Dubai traffic fines list, before you drive.
7. Plan fuel and tolls. Salik tolls and fuel are extra on rentals, and our page on UAE petrol prices today helps you plan.
The cooler months from October to April suit outdoor dining and walks along the boulevard. Summer visits work well too, since the mall and observation decks are fully air-conditioned. Whatever the season, book your At the Top slot in advance and leave early for the car park on public holidays.
